Your files stay on your device

Image Format Converter runs entirely in your browser. When you drop in a HEIC, PNG, JPG, or any other file, it is decoded and re-encoded on your own computer using WebAssembly and JavaScript. The file is never transmitted to us or to anyone else, we never receive a copy, and we could not access it even if we wanted to. When you close or refresh the tab, the file and its converted output are gone.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages people visit and how the site is performing overall. It sets cookies and collects standard measurement data such as your approximate location (from your IP address, which Google anonymizes), device and browser type, the pages you view, and how you arrived at the site. This is aggregate, statistical information — we use it to decide which formats and guides to improve, not to identify you personally.

The contents of the files you convert are never part of this. Analytics can tell us that someone used the HEIC-to-JPG page; it can never tell us anything about the photo they converted, because that photo never reaches a server.

Advertising

To keep the tool free, we display ads served by third-party advertising networks, such as Google and its AdSense platform. These networks may use cookies and similar technologies to serve and measure ads, and in some cases to show ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your activity across the web.

You can opt out of personalized advertising from Google at Google Ads Settings, and out of personalized ads from many other vendors at aboutads.info. Where required by law, ads are shown only after you provide consent through the cookie banner or your browser settings.

Affiliate links

Some pages include links to products on Amazon. We participate in the Amazon Associates program, which means we may earn a commission when you buy something through one of those links, at no extra cost to you. Clicking an affiliate link may let Amazon set its own cookies under its own privacy policy. Full details are on our affiliate disclosure page.

We do not sell your personal data

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. The only data leaving your browser is the standard analytics and advertising information described above, handled by those providers under their own privacy policies. We don't run our own database of visitors, and there is no account to create.

Cookies and your choices

Cookies on this site come from the analytics and advertising providers named above; we don't set our own tracking cookies. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings, and you can use browser privacy features or extensions to block them. Blocking analytics and advertising cookies does not affect the converter — it works exactly the same either way.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data, or to opt out of its sale or sharing. Because we don't maintain our own store of personal data, most of these requests are handled directly through Google's controls above — but you're always welcome to contact us.

Children

This site is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site evolves or as regulations change. When we do, we'll revise the “last updated” date at the top of the page.
